A Cuffley woman is set to don her running shoes and tackle a half marathon for the 11th year running.
Carol Lewis, 61, is gearing up for the Royal Parks Half Marathon in aid of Maytree, which supports adults in suicide crisis.
She is hoping to raise £500, which would add to the £5,000 she has already raised over the years for Great Ormond Street Hospital, Mind, Asthma UK and Maytree.
The Cranfield Crescent resident said: “I have seen the event grow each year and more people are becoming aware of it.
“The highlight has been that every single year the weather has been perfect – I just hope I don’t jinx it for this year!”
Carol, who works at Maytree as a volunteer coordinator, added that the harsh winter was tricky to train in, but running twice weekly has helped her prepare.
