BEAUTIFUL Dandy finds himself at Southridge RSPCA Animal Centre looking for a new home because his young owner left home and left him with his mum, who had a bad back and was unable to exercise him.

He was kept in the garage with access to the garden and was not taken for a walk after the son left home.

Poor Dandy, a one-year-old chocolate and tan crossbreed, is very shy and nervous when you first meet him. He is a very lively dog who will need training and socialising as he does pull on the lead.

He is good with other dogs and an adult home with someone who is used to large breed dogs would be ideal.

If you can offer this lovely boy a fresh start in life please call in at the centre, in Packhorse Lane, South Mimms, open every day except Wednesdays from 11.00am until 4.15pm, or call 0300 123 0704, for further information.

n The Friends of RSPCA Southridge is appealing for volunteers to help man the on-site Cafe Ridge.

A spokesman said: “We are still in urgent need of volunteers to help with the above at weekends.

“If you can give a morning, afternoon or the whole day we would be extremely grateful.

“All the money raised in the cafe goes to the centre and is spent on the animals or equipment to make life easier and more pleasant while they wait for a new home.”

If you can help, call Carole on 01707 665671.
