Police are appealing for witnesses after crooks tried to break into an ATM at Tesco Express in Potters Bar.

Officers were called at 6.28am on Monday, March 6, following reports that two people had tried to remove the ATM’s screen at the Mutton Lane store.

A police spokeswoman said they failed to get any money and then fled.

She added that enquiries are ongoing but urged anyone with information to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference J3/18/325, or report it online at www.herts.police.uk/report.
