A free adult social group aimed at addressing the problem of social isolation and loneliness is making a comeback.

Tuesday Allsorts meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month between 10am and noon at Welwyn Garden City Library.

The attendees are aged between 60 and 90 years old., and prior to the pandemic, the group numbered on average around 20-30 people per session.

Run by library staff, Tuesday Allsorts provides the perfect opportunity for people to become friends and socialise over tea and cake, whilessometimes taking part in quizzes and activities including Easter crafts and chocolate tasting. Starting from January 2022, it will be welcoming back guest speakers, which in the past have included a tour guide from Hatfield House, and representatives from the PDSA and Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust.

Future events include tea, chat and quiz on October 26, musical mayhem on November 9, Christmas crafts and plenty of laughs on November 23, and the Allsorts Christmas party on December 14.
