Lane closed after crash and fire on A1(M) South Mimms services

A vehicle has overturned and a lane is closed on the A1(M) between Junctions 1 and 2 northbound, at the South Mimms interchange with Junction 23 of the M25.

Police, who are still at the scene, were called at 12.44pm to the crash, which involved a car and a van and resulted in a fire.

Five fire engines attended the blaze.

The ambulance service have been called out after minor injuries were reported.

Traffic is not moving around the interchange on both roads as recovery is being arranged for the van.

Highways England advised in a tweet at 1.18pm: “Please allow extra journey time if travelling in the area.”

Normal traffic conditions are expected around 4.30pm.
