HAVE a cracking Pancake Day with compost!

That was the title of the press release that arrived on my desk this week and I don't know about you, but I don't really associate compost and my yearly Shrove Tuesday treat.

As I ploughed into the piece, I discovered that, in fact, they were not suggesting that I pepper my pancake with peat.

They were, however, giving me instructions on what to do with the egg shells and lemon peel for when I'd finished making my delicious pancakes (I had more than one I admit - well what the hell I'm not on a diet; unlike some in my office!) yesterday.

Apparently the best thing to do with the wastage is to tip it into a compost bin, the shells and lemon peel do the compost all sorts of good.

Oh well, there's my bit for the ozone this week.

For your own £8 compost bin just like mine visit www.recyclenow.com/compost or phone 0845 077 0757.
