A controversial waste-recycling plant n the fringe of Potters Bar was refused permission for a controversial expansion this morning.

At least 20 objectors from Potters Bar and Northaw watched a county council planning committee unanimously refuse an application by CS Recycling Ltd to expand into a neighbouring timber yard on Coopers Lane.

They firmly expect the company to appeal, but are determined to continue their fight.
