Pub chain Wetherspoon has lost its chance to revive its controversial plan to convert a disused central Welwyn Garden City house into a boozer, the borough council has confirmed.

A council spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times today that no appeal against its refusal of planning permission from JD Wethespoon had been received, and the deadline had expired.

JD Wetherspoon PLC, whose second planning application for 22 Parkway was rejected in August after vigorous opposition, has said it is “considering its options” for the 1920s house.
