CONCERN is mounting for the welfare of a missing WGC man.

Michael Johnson left his home in Lodgefied on Monday morning to travel to Scotland.

His family had contact with him yesterday morning (Wednesday), but have not heard from him since and are growing increasingly worried.

Police are now appealing for the public's help in tracing Mr Johnson.

He is described as a white man, around 5ft 10in tall, stocky build, and with close cropped brown hair.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black top with white patterns

Police believe he may be in the Lanark area of Scotland.

Pc Lee Rowson said: "We are increasingly concerned for Michael's well-being.

"It is unusual for him to not keep in regular contact with his family and they are keen to know he is safe.

"I would appeal to Michael to get in touch and let us know he's ok."

If you have information on his whereabouts or if they see a man matching the description, call police on 0845 33 00 222.
