COMPUTER services at Welwyn Hatfield Council’s WGC offices are currently down, leaving staff unable to deal with residents queries.
Residents wanting to speak to staff at the contact centre in Campus East are being asked to be patient while the problem is resolved.
A council spokesman said the failure is believed to be due to a telephone cable being mistakenly cut earlier this morning (Friday).
A message on the council’s website reads: “Due to an external network error this morning, our Contact Centre was unable to receive telephone calls for which we apologise.
“This issue has now been resolved, however, we are still experiencing some computer problems. As a result of this our staff can take your details, but are unable to answer queries at this time. We are working to resolve the issues and will be able to answer your queries once the system is working again.
