DRIVERS have been told to avoid Welwyn as firefighters tackle a massive blaze.
A spokesman for the Highways Agency said traffic on the A1(M) motorway was being restricted to 40mph.
The junction six northbound slip road near the Clock Hotel was closed initially, but has since reopened to traffic.
Herts Highways has closed the Link Road B656 at its junction with the Clock roundabout.
A Herts police spokeswoman asked motorists to avoid the area if possible.
