A COMMONWEALTH Games gold medallist faces up to 10 years behind bars after admitting fraud charges.
Steve Scutt, who was a member of England's winning 4x400m relay team in the 1982 Games in Brisbane, Australia, appeared at St Albans Crown Court.
He pleaded guilty to being a director of numerous companies despite being bankrupt and taking money from friends he conned into investing.
Scutt, 53, of Newgate Street Village, will be sentenced later this month.
