A PART of the cub scout promise is to do a good turn every day.

The Beavers and Cubs of 2nd Little Heath Air Scouts did just this by holding a fundraising event in aid of the Children's Society.

Their aim was to create a line of coins around their meeting hall.

They achieved their aim with coins left over raising a whopping £50.20 for the charity.

The society's coordinator in Potters Bar, Sheila Blake, thanked the young people of Little Heath for raising the money.

She added: "The Children's Society provided vital help and understanding for those forgotten children who face the greatest danger, discrimination or disadvantage in their daily lives.

"Projects include looking after young runaway children and raising the issues of young runaways."
