THEY say that a week is a long time in politics.
If that's true, then imagine what a quarter of a century must feel like!
Hatfield town mayor Howard Morgan celebrated 25 years as steward of Hatfield Conservative Club last month.
Club chairman David Hughes presented him with a framed Welsh rugby shirt, signed by all the players of the Grand Slam-winning 2008 Six Nations side, as well as a 10-year-old whisky from Conservative Party leader David Cameron.
Cllr Morgan said: "Those 25 years have gone very quickly and very happily. I've met some very interesting politicians in that time, most of the party leaders have been here.
"I've enjoyed it and I hope to continue for at least another five years."

Mr Hughes said: "Howard is dedicated and diligent.
"He's a diamond.
"Although he's still very patriotic towards Wales, he has adopted Hatfield as his second home.
"He is the town mayor and he loves holding that position.
"If he wants to stay on [as club steward] for another five years, that's fine by me.
