Cigarettes and alcohol stolen in shop raid

BURGLARS smashed their way into a convenience store and stole cigarettes and alcohol in a late-night raid.

The thieves smashed a front window to get into the Co-op store in Station Road, Cuffley.

After taking an unspecified amount of cigarettes and booze, they escaped and drove off in the direction of Brookmans Park.

Police are now appealing for information and witnesses to the raid, which taook place between 11.50pm and midnight on Monday last week.

Pc Sarah Meacock said: “I would encourage anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the shop during the time the burglary took place or has any other information in relation to this crime to contact me.”
