A church will be full of festive cheer as it holds its seventeenth Christmas Tree Festival.

St Francis Church, in Church Road, WGC, will be holding the event on Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6, from noon to 5pm.

There will be a tombola, home-made cakes, children’s games, tree auctions, Santa’s grotto, hot food and refreshments, plus the best dressed tree competition.

Last year, visitors enjoyed a dazzling display of more than 70 trees.

Admission is £3 with free admission for children under the age of 12.

Visitors are also invited to bring a decoration for the giving tree.
