THE mystery deepens over the 'late' Christmas card which was sent to Times Towers by Welwyn Hatfield Council's communications team.

Nancy Sardari-Kemani, a senior press officer, got in touch with the newsdesk following my column last week.

"In our office we are perplexed about the Charlie Boy Maynard [sic] piece," she said.

"We posted your Christmas card in good time and it definitely went out in the post. How weird!

"So I don't know why it was hand-delivered. We didn't do that in here!"

Looks like gremlins - or should that be elves - are at work in the council's post room!
