Archant

A child was taken to hospital after his bike was in collision with a car in Welwyn Garden City.

Police were called at 8.13am today to a crash in Stanborough Road, past the roundabout.

The child was cycling on the pavement, and police believe his bike clipped his friend’s bike, causing him to fall out into the road and collide with a white Vauxhall Astra.

The boy had a minor injury to his hand and was taken to hospital.

There are delays along the route and traffic is being diverted onto the A1000.
