A 'CHEMICAL smell' led to a main road in WGC town centre being closed off. Parkway was closed from the junctions at Barleycroft Road and Church Road by police at 7.10pm on Good Friday.
A fire service spokesman said the incident proved to be a false alarm.
The road was re-opened by 7.30pm.
