Chase New Homes has submitted a planning application to potentially develop 279 residential properties in Welwyn Garden City.

The housing developer has proposed to redevelop the old Rank Xerox buildings in Bessemer Road into 44 apartments, and also submitted an outline application to erect four apartment blocks of up to 235 residential units.

The company owns the site and is already developing 140 residential properties in the two empty buildings. However it wishes to convert space in the large rooftops, which are currently vacant but were used in connection with the offices, into more apartments.
