CHILDREN will be taking part in a sponsored swim on Saturday in honour of a two-year-old who died in a swimming pool accident.
The event at Odyssey Health & Racquet Club, in Old Knebworth Lane, Knebworth, is to raise funds for Addenbrooke’s Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
The fundraiser is in memory of Oliver Else, from Hitchin, who died in July last year, just three weeks before his third birthday.
It is one of a series of events which have so far raised more than �20,000 for the Cambridge hospital.
Oliver’s mum Lorna said: “Oliver spent his final days in the care of Addenbrooke’s PICU where the staff did all they could to save him.”
