RESIDENTS are being urged to be on their guard against a charity scam operating in Potters Bar.
A firm called Children's Support Society (CSS) has been dropping leaflets in the town asking people to donate unwanted clothing, bedding, curtains, paired shoes, toys, handbags and belts.
The leaflet claims the company is dedicated to providing the "shelter, food, clothing, education and healthcare that are essential to a child's wellbeing."
Bur Trading Standards officers are urging people to be wary because the charity number quoted on the flyer is a registered charity with no affiliation to CSS.
