The cousin of a seriously ill dad is hosting an event this weekend in Hatfield to support his cancer treatment.

Christine Foster has organised a Charity Race Day to take place in the Town Inn this Sunday.

The event, which starts at 1pm, will have a BBQ, raffles, live music, tug-of-war and much more.

Ryan was diagnosed with cancer in May 2017, and was recommended a form of immunotherapy that is not available on the NHS.

His family and friends launched a funding campaign that has already raised over £24,000 out of a £100,000 goal.

Recently Ryan spent four weeks in hospital with sepsis but he is now fighting the infection at home.

Christine said: “It’s horrible to watch my cousin who I’ve grown up with go through this and I want to help raise as much money for him as I can.”

The pair were very close growing up and spent the holidays together at their grandmother’s house.
