BRITPOP and Mod influenced covers band The Revivals are playing a charity concert in Welwyn Garden City this weekend.
The quartet will be appearing in the Green Room at the Doctors Tonic pub, in Church Road, on Saturday night in aid of two charities – the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Following storming shows at The Horn pub in St Albans and in Essex recently, the band will play an energetic set of Britpop, Mod and 60s classics, from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Kinks to Kasabian, Oasis and The Stone Roses.
Guitarist Matt Cleverly said: “We arranged the gig as a dear aunt [Angela Fogg] and close friend [Christopher Lawley] of the band sadly passed away due to these two conditions.
“All the ticket funds raised will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
“We have also arranged this event to celebrate the life of Angela and Chris. We are delighted that ticket sales so far have been high to show support.
“The gig promises to be a top night!”
Tickets are priced at £5, available on the door or online at www.the-revivals.co.uk
