CCTV footage has been released by police in connection with an attack on a Welwyn Garden City man in Essex earlier this year.

The attack left the victim with a fractured cheek bone.

The video shows a group of casually-dressed men walking along Epping High Street, at around the time of the attack, which happened in February.

The victim, a 22-year-old man from Welwyn Garden City, who had been drinking, and cannot remember exactly what happened, came across a group of men.

He was punched once and the force of the blow caused the injury to his face.

Essex Police’s Dc James Smith said: “The victim did not report this injury to police until three weeks after the incident but we have studied CCTV and are now able to issue these images and hope that someone will recognise this group of people.”

• Anyone with information should call Dc Smith at Epping CID on non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
