Herts police have released this CCTV image after an assault and theft in Welwyn Garden City.

Between 8pm and 8.30pm on September 7, a criminal went into the Co-op in Hall Grove and attempted to steal a crate of lager.

When challenged by a female employee, the thug punched her in the ribs and then left with the alcohol.

Investigating PC Laura Frelford said: “Thankfully the victim was not injured following her ordeal but it has left her understandably shaken.

“I am keen to identify and speak to the person pictured as I believe they may have information that could prove useful in my enquiries.”

Anyone with information should contact laura.frelford@herts.pnn.police.uk or call 101, using reference 41/34724/18.
