Cash stolen after spate of shed burglaries in Datchworth

Cash was stolen in Datchworth after a spate of shed burglaries leaving multiple properties damaged.

On Monday and Tuesday four sheds were broken into in the village.

Three of those were on Burham Green Road where thieves forced their way into the buildings on between 6pm Monday and 10.30am on Tuesday.

They took money from one of the shed and searched all three, but nothing else was stolen.

Between 2pm on Monday and 10.30am on Tuesday a property at Datchworth Bowls Club, in Brookbridge Lane, was also broken into and searched.

Nothing was taken but damage was done to the shed.

A police spokesman said: “Anyone with information about any of these incidents or who saw any suspicious activity in the area on Monday or Tuesday should contact police using the non-emergency number 101.

“Alternatively, call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
