Cars collide on A1(M) motorway

A THREE-CAR pile-up on the A1(M) motorway caused long tailbacks in the evening rush-hour yesterday (Wednesday).
A blue Land Rover Estate, a blue Ford Focus and a red Volkswagen Golf were in collision in the fast lane of the northbound carriageway, near junction six at Welwyn.
Police were called to the scene just before 6.05pm.
The road was cleared by 6.15pm, but the shunt caused tailbacks heading back towards WGC and the Hatfield Tunnel.
