Cardinal visits Welwyn Garden City church

The 11th Archbishop of Westminster, Cardinal Vincent Nichols, visited a church in Welwyn Garden City.

Cardinal Nichols, who is an English cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church, visited St Bonaventures Church in Parkway, Welwyn Garden City yesterday.

The visit was to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the laying of the church’s foundation stone on March 10, 1926.

St Bonaventures was officially opened on September 14, 1926 and is the oldest church in Welwyn Garden City.

Cardinal Nichols became the 11th Archbishop of Westminster in 2009, and was also elected president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.
