A car has crashed and ended up on its roof in a ditch on the side of the A1(M) this afternoon – causing a partial block and queuing traffic northbound.

Traffic is slow northbound between Junction 6 for Welwyn and Junction 7 for Stevenage following a crash involving a red Mazda.

Police were called to the scene to close part of the road to allow the vehicle to be recovered. Officers believe nobody was seriously hurt.

All lanes have now reopened and delays are starting to ease.
