FLAMES shot out of a car causing firefighters to dash to the scene.

The blaze started in the parked Vauxhall Nova in Carbone Hill, Northaw, just after 6.30pm yesterday (Monday).

Fire crews extinguished the flames and a spokesman said it was fortunate that no one was in or near the car.

He said: "It looks like a complete accident. But whether it was an electronic fault or not it is unclear.

"It looks like a full tank of petrol that has gone up.
