Car damaged in Hatfield after attempted theft

A WOULD-BE thief tried to steal a specialist part from a car in Hatfield, police have said.

A man approached a Black BMW 7 series saloon, which was parked in Campion Way, Hatfield, and attempted to remove the front right sensor bar which damaged the car.

The owner of the BMW saw the man tampering with his car and shouted at him.

The man then dropped the sensor bar and started running towards Daisy Walk.

He is described as aged between 20 to 30 years old, of a medium build with short, mousey spiked hair.

He was reported to be wearing a blue hoody, skinny jeans and a blue scarf around his neck.

The incident took place on Monday, September 9th at approximately 1.05pm on Campion Road, Hatfield.

Investigating officer, PC Joe Clapham said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the offence and saw it take place, or anyone who thinks they may recognise the man described, to get in touch as soon as possible.”
