A team of hospice nurses will be donning unusual outfits on Saturday night for an 80s-themed fundraiser.

The in-patient nurses at the Isabel Hospice, in Welwyn Garden City, have signed up to the Isabel Starlight Walk.

Lorraine Chapman said: “We are taking part in the Starlight Walk because we are so proud of the work Isabel Hospice does.

“As a relatively new member of the nursing team I have experienced the wonderful support given me during my first days.”

And Denise Murray said: “I have worked at Isabel Hospice in-patient unit for 11 years and feel very privileged to be a part of a patient’s care at the end of their life and supporting the families at a very difficult and private time.”

The walk will start at Fanshawe Pool & Gym in Ware at 8.30pm.

Walkers will follow the 10k route into Hertford and back again.

The Starlight Walk is open to all those over 12.

Walkers can also sign up on the night for £20.

Sign up now by visiting or call 01707 382500.
