Protestors have been urged to show the strength of their feeling about the controversial New Barnfield incinerator at an evening meeting tomorrow (Tuesday).

A public inquiry into the bid by energy firm Veolia enters its sixth and final week this week, with an evening session being held at the Fielder Centre.

The meeting will begin at 6pm, but lobby groups have called on critics to arrive at 5.30pm for a protest outside the venue.

Cathy Roe, from the New Barnfield Action Fund, said: “This is a very important opportunity for residents to show the strength of their opposition to the incinerator plan and to the harm it would do to people and the environment.”
