Welwyn Garden City's Business Improvement District (BID) are having their first coffee morning tomorrow.
The coffee morning will take place at Starbucks in Welwyn Garden City, from 8am until 9.30am.
Businesses in Welwyn Garden City met on Wednesday, February 24 to discuss plans to develop the town centre into a Business Improvement District.
This will allow businesses to have more influence on the promotion and development of the town to attract more people to shop, work and enjoy themselves in WGC.
There will be coffee mornings on the first Thursday of every month, held in different locations around the town centre.
Local businesses will be able to meet the board members and hear everything about the BID.
The project is led by the Welwyn Garden City Town Centre Partnership (TCP). Chair Chris Hooper, who is also head of branch of the John Lewis Partnership, said: “We want to ensure that the town and our businesses have a vibrant and healthy future.
“We need to take advantage of our heritage and our green and family friendly town but at the same time develop a thriving business community.
The TCP is made up largely of a cross section of experienced business people across the town centre.
Mr Hooper said: “They are all passionate about Welwyn Garden City and have a strong commitment to the economic success of the town and every business within it.
“They are committed to ensuring that all businesses have an opportunity to express their view about the activities they would like to see in the BID business plan over the next five years.
“This is a one off opportunity and I urge all businesses to get involved in this exciting project”.
