A global mail company has started work on its new Hatfield headquarters.

Air Business is set to open its new head office and distribution centre in Hatfield Business Park following a move from St Albans.

A company spokesman said that having increased in size sevenfold and now processing over 200 million items a year, the company requires greater space.

Adam Sherman, Air Business group managing director, said: “Our customer portfolio in sectors from both the publishing and e-commerce markets is expanding, and we are handling an increasing number of items ranging from printed matter to parcels and packets.

“We are serious about our growth and the move to Hatfield Business Park is simply a reflection of our need to accommodate this.”

The new premises is expected to be finished by next summer.
