A pair of burglars were caught on camera after smashing their way into a Potters Bar home.

Police were called last Thursday at 12.24pm after being alerted to a burglary in St Vincents Way.

Two men smashed the window of a back door to get in and ransacked the place.

Although they damaged the alarm system, they were caught on internal camera footage.

The burglars stole jewellery and watches before running out towards Barnet Road, and made off in a grey Audi down Hill Rise and onto Southgate Road towards the M25.

The first offender is described as white, aged in his mid-30s and about 5ft 9in tall, of stocky build with a short ginger stubbly beard.

He was wearing dark blue jeans, a black zip-up jacket and a black cap or beanie.

The second offender is described as white, aged in his early 30s and around 6ft tall, of medium build with short dark hair. He was wearing a blue Adidas jacket, a black woolly hat, blue jeans and a black face covering.

Both of the men are described as having Irish accents.

Any witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Herts Police on the non-emergency number, quoting crime reference 41/17102/19.

This newspaper has requested the footage from police in the event of a CCTV appeal.
