HAPLESS crooks failed to break into a newsagents, during an early morning raid.
The would-be burglars smashed the window at Martin’s in Haldens, WGC yesterday (Wednesday) morning.
But the offenders, believed to be two men, ran off empty handed as the alarm sounded at around 3am.
Shop supervisor Michael Newton told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “Nothing was taken and we’re open as normal.
“It could have been a lot worse.”
