BURGLARS forced their way into a house and confronted a frightened elderly couple.

While two men forced their way through the back door, a third climbed through a window at the back of the house.

The shaken owners of the property on The Drive, Goffs Oak, a man and woman in their 70s and 80s, were made to hand over cash.

No one was injured in the incident which happened on Thursday, just after 9pm.

Detective constable Matt Tipper said: "This incident has left the victims very shaken and it is important anyone with any information about what happened call the police."

The men, who were all white and in their mid 20s, are believed to have got away in a Mercedes or a Ford Mondeo.
