Police are investigating after a 97-year-old woman had a bag stolen from her home in Potters Bar.

A burglar knocked on a 97-year-old woman’s door in Potters Bar yesterday before heading in and stealing her handbag.

Police were called to Park Avenue shortly before 2pm following the incident, in which a handbag was stolen.

A post on social media, signed as from the victim’s great-granddaughter, describes the stolen bag as a black Michael Kors handbag,

According to the post, the burglar “knocked on door, got into house and got her bag which had money, shopping vouchers and photos of grandchildren and family.

“All she is worried about is getting the photos and stuff back, so please can everyone keep an eye open for a black Michael Kors bag.”
