PUPILS at Brookmans Park Primary School raised 7,000 for the surivors of the Haiti earthquake on a sponsored walk. The pupils had the idea after the topic was raised in a school assembly, and the one hour walk took place around the village.
Headteacher Nathan Hairon said: “We were truly amazed by the response of the children and the generosity of our local community.
“The children were deeply moved by the suffering of those in Haiti and really wanted to do something to help, and took the initiative by coming up with their own idea.”
