A kind-hearted Potters Bar teenager is donating her long locks to charity after her own experience of alopecia.

Jessica Hawes, a pupil of Queenswood School in Brookmans Park, suffered an accident which led to at least three years of hair loss.

Her mum Janet Hawes said: “I’m immensely proud of her.”

After talking about getting her hair cut, Jessica’s friends said they would also like to join her.

On December 6, Jessica, Hannah Finlay and Sophia Massam, who are all 14, will face the scissors and their hair will go to The Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children who have lost their own hair.
