An equestrian show attracted around 50 horses and their riders to its many classes in Brookmans Park.

On bank holiday Monday the Raybrook Riding May Day Show took place at Raybrook Riding in Bluebridge Road.

The event for horses, ponies, owners and horse-lovers was a chance to compete and watch a dozen classes, each sponsored by local businesses and individuals.

The show attracted roughly 50 horses and their riders who took part in a number of classes and trophies were awarded.

One trophy was dedicated to Mark Cripps who died and his son, Sam Cripps, 6, attended with his horse DellBoy in his memory.

A spokesperson for the show said: “It was wonderful, our best show yet and the weather held off.

“There was a couple of showers in the morning but nothing that ruined the day.

“Thanks to the organisers Vickie Boylan and Sarah Sullivan, all of our sponsors, everyone who took part or who came to watch, the day was a great success.

“Everyone worked so hard to bring it all together.”

The riding group encourages people of all ages to take part and start horse riding, including children as young as six-years-old.
