Members of Brookmans Park Golf Club were proud to hand over a cheque to Welwyn Garden City's Willow Foundation.

Willow Foundation, which provides special days for seriously ill young adults, received £11,500 from the golfers.

The cheque was presented to Katie Fisher of the Willow Foundation (middle) by Golf Club Captain Trevor Goodman and Ladies’ Captain Jane Robinson.

Mr Goodman said: “The money was raised over the last 12 months at a number of golfing and social events held at the Brookmans Park Golf Club.

“It is a fantastic amount of money and it will go to the very good cause of helping seriously ill young adults.”

On one of the charity golf days alone, £4,000 was raised.

The event was attended by former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson, who with his wife Megs, set up the Willow Foundation as a lasting memorial to their daughter Anna.

Sadly Anna died at the age of 31 after bravely battling cancer for five years.

Golf club members also arranged afternoon teas and auctions as part of their fundraising for the charity, which has its headquarters in Welwyn Garden City.
