Three 14-year-old boys were arrested in connection with an arson which caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to a sports pitch at Monk’s Walk School.

The boys were initially bailed until Sunday, August 28, then re-bailed until Sunday, September 4, and now remain on bail until Sunday, October 9.

The arson took place at Monk’s Walk School in Knightsfield on Sunday, July 31, when offenders set fire to artificial grass.

Although the fire was extinguished after a few minutes, it had already caused significant damage to the middle of the pitch.
