Key partners and experts gathered for a conference in Welwyn Garden City to discuss the future of housing in Welwyn Hatfield.
The event at the Focolare Centre looked to identify the challenges the sector is facing in its bid to tackle homelessness and improve the quality and supply of affordable homes.
It comes as Welwyn Hatfield Council prepares a new-five year housing and homelessness strategy.
Councillor Tony Kingsbury said: “Our focus on early advice and prevention is helping families keep a roof over their heads and our supply of homes to rent is increasing through the Affordable Housing Programme.
“We’re now looking ahead to see what more we can do with the help of partners.
“Events like this can only make our local ties stronger, ensuring that we all work together towards improving housing in Welwyn Hatfield.”
Keynote speeches were delivered by James Prestwich, head of housing policy at the National Housing Federation, and Kojo Sarpong from Southwark Council – a local government trailblazer in homelessness prevention.
