THE corpse of a woman found in Brookmans Park a week ago today (June 29) is that of missing Janet Read.
Police this afternoon (Monday) formally identified the body, found in Bradmore Lane, as Ms Read.
The 57-year-old from Walsingham Close in Hatfield was last seen more than one month ago on June 4.
Since the discovery, found by a male cyclist from South Mimms, police have been liaising with the missing woman's family.
A police spokeswoman said: "A family liaison officer has been in regular contact with Janet's family since the discovery last week and has updated them with the sad news."
The coroner has been informed and an inquest will be opened
