A BODY has been found at the side of rail tracks in Cuffley this morning (Thursday).

Police are currently at the scene of the tragedy, which has prompted delays on the First Capital Connect (FCC) line.

It is thought the person was hit by a train at around 6.45am.

A spokesman from First Capital Connect told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “There’s been a body found on the side of the track.

“British Transport Police are currently on the scene.

“We don’t have any further information than that at the moment.”

Services are currently running between Gordon Hill and Moorgate, but there are delays.

The line is closed between Gordon Hill and Stevenage via Hertford North.

Replacement buses are in place, and FCC says its tickets are valid on London bus and underground services, as well as Greater Anglia trains.
