BLACK people are nearly FOUR times as likely to get stopped and searched by the police as whites in Hertfordshire, official figures have revealed.

The statistics, published by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, also show that Asians are one-and-a-half times as likely to be targeted by officers as their Caucasian counterparts.

It also emerged that Hertfordshire Constabulary COULD face legal action from the Commission, which was founded in 2007 to eliminate discrimination, reduce inequality and protect human rights.
