Staff and pupils at St Giles’ C of E Primary School met Bishop of Hertford Michael Beasley and gave him a grand tour of the school.

GreetGreet

The bishop and Archdeacon Janet MacKenzie met the school’s RE ambassadors, Olivia Herzig and Jackson Millard, as well as headteacher Susan Ridge, chair of governors Nicola Thrussell and the Reverend Karen Turner.

Bishop Michael and Archdeacon Janet visited each class and met the children and staff, and were invited to take a print of their hands to contribute to the school’s ‘Hands Do God’s Work’ display.

The group also toured the school’s outdoor ‘sacred places’, and were invited to write a prayer in the prayer garden.

Pupils had the opportunity to talk to the bishop about the school, as well as asking him questions and hearing about his role.

Mrs Ridge said: “We feel very blessed to have had Bishop Michael visit us to meet the children, staff and governors and to get to know our school.

“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the visit.”
